Kid's Homework Zone! Part: 1

I told you yesterday that my oldest is starting kindergarten this year.  This summer, one thing I want to do is create an organized homework zone.  My very talented painter friend took this old desk we had and gave it a new life.  I LOVE the way it turned out!  I just got it back yesterday, and the kids spent last night after dinner playing "school."

If you have any ideas on how to create a good homework zone, please share!  This will be our first year with homework and I need ideas!  Stay tuned!

  1. My best advice is to have a box of homework supplies that are separate from crafts supplies, and are used only for homework, small box of crayons, scissors, glue, pencils, pencil sharpener, etc. That way you and your child won't have to go on a treasure hunt at homework time!

  2. Thank you for the advice!! I actually purchased last week $1 caddies from the Dollar Tree for homework supplies just like you are talking about. Although my son is the only one starting school, I bought three for each child because, well, you know how kids are haha. I also printed off the schools supply list off the website so that he can have the same supplies at home that he does at school-they are very specific about brands and such at his school. I went to Target yesterday, but the school supplies aisle won't be out until next week. I will post once I get my caddy together. Thanks so much for your advice and check out my caddy once it's completed and let me know if I forgot anything! :)
