My First Month Review!

Well, friends, this Sunday marks one month from my very first blog post and what a fun month it has been!  I just jumped in with no expectations at all, and without knowing anything about writing a blog.  I am learning everything as I go, and I am having a great time in the process!  I started this blog to help get myself more organized and to maybe help a few friends along the way.  I have always enjoyed organizing, taking pictures and documenting life  as it happens, so this blog has turned out to be the perfect outlet for me!

I am a wife and  a mother to three small children, and I absolutely love those roles, but I can easily get lost in those roles and forget what I liked to do before I got married and had kids.  We all know the saying, "if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy", well this blog baby of mine makes me happy, so I think that can only be a good thing.  With that said, my main reason for this blog, is my family.  I find the more organized we are, the more time we have to spend together as a family, and spending time with my sweet family is what I love most!  My children have had fun helping me with all the organizing projects for this blog (behind the scenes) and the baby is often times in my arms when I type- yes, I can type one handed haha!

Okay, so several blog related changes happened over the course of the month.  One, I finally got my camera lens back!  I dropped it back in December and had been without it ever since.  I love taking pictures and had really missed it. I am kind of relearning how to use the manuel setting on my camera, so hopefully overtime, you will see my pictures improve.  Also, when I was at the camera shop I picked up Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.  It is an old version that I got for VERY cheap, but I wanted to test Photoshop out before making a costly purchase for the better, newer version.  I used it to create my blog header and have been using it to create my title pictures.  I haven't actually used it to edit my pictures yet, but I hope to try it out soon.  I still have a lot to learn with it, but what I have figured out so far, I really like a lot!

Some other exciting blog related news is that over the past month, I have had more people look at my blog page than I ever imagined would look at it!  I don't know what I expected, but it does make it more fun to write when you know there are people actually reading what you post!  I also had 7 people start to follow my blog, which I think is totally awesome!

2nd. Organized Medicine Cabinet
3rd.  Media Storage

The month of July is going to be a busy month for the blog!  These are some of the areas of my home I plan to organize and post about this month:

*Garage Clean Out!  Enough is enough with my cluttered garage! I plan to take you though my process of cleaning out my garage.  Maybe my husband might actually be able to park his truck in the garage by the end of the month!

*Planning for my daughters 3rd birthday!

*Finish up the Homework Zone!

*Closet Clean Out!  I plan to clean out and organize my closet, my husbands closet, and all three kids closets!

*Update our Picture Gallery!

Hope you will join me this month and we can have fun organizing together!  Have a great weekend and I will see ya'll next week!

  3. I love reading your posts! I have done the closet organizing when I realized we needed more storage space for baby number 2. We installed closer systems in two out of three pantries and all 4 bedrooms! I could post pictures if you want to see! I'm quite proud of the kids rooms too :-) also - cant wait for your garage organization bc eventhough we can fit our cars we still have too much junk in there we need to get rid of!

  4. Thank you, Jamie! I would love to see your pictures for inspiration! I am excited to post about my garage cleanup! I have to admit though, cleaning out the garage is not really my idea of fun haha. It's hot, dusty and hard to make pretty, but it will be so nice to finally have it organized! It has beeen a slow process-going through a few boxes here and there and purging a ton of stuff that we no longer need or want. I hope to finish it up soon! :)
